Hi, I'm Barbara!
In 2017 at the age of 73 I literally got a “pain in my butt,” which prevented me from sitting. Even after three years of surgeries, physical therapies, etc., sitting stayed painful, although it decreased. I lived mainly in bed, with no exciting reason to get well.
Then, luck came my way. In 2019, I had an epiphany: I could learn The Body Code and help other people.
In 2020, I became certified as a Body Code Practitioner (and earlier, as an Emotion Code Practitioner). By July 2020 – through the beginning of the coronavirus here in California – I had held 175 Body Code sessions with 20 people.
In mid-2023, Dr. Bradley Nelson introduced the Belief Code, which I became certified in on February 5, 2024.
I discovered that this work gives me a purpose to live. I love helping people release their trapped negative emotions because I see it improving their lives.
More About Barbara
Who am I really? What did I do the rest of my life? I retired in 2008 after being a writer in the computer field. My father started a newsletter for computer executives in 1963, when only mainframe computers existed. He had been a computer consultant to these executives, and they were always asking him, “Do you know anything about ... data communications? data privacy? managing programmers? and so on. So he started the newsletter to answer these questions.
I worked for my Dad starting in 1969, after college, going to meetings of computer executives in the city where I lived. Dad’s newsletter – The EDP Analyzer – was read around the world, because it offered solid advice and usually had three case studies of what actual companies were doing on that month’s topic. A professor and I used the newsletter to write a textbook on managing the computer department. Then, when Dad sold the publication, I moved on to writing for consulting firms, specializing in company case studies in managing the computer department.
On my own time, I was fascinated by alternative healing approaches – hypnotherapy, health foods (my Mom’s specialty), supplements, cranial-sacral work, past life readings, chiropractors, acupuncture, sound healing, and so on. And that is why, when I heard Dr. Brad Nelson describe his work in an interview, I bought his book, The Emotion Code, and then realized that this was a technique that I could learn and practice.
I live in northern California, across the street from my daughter, and, believe it or not, I am the halfway house for my two grandchildren. One lives with me full-time while going to graduate school, and the other gradually moved in over nine months’ time. Life can be full of unknown adventures, can’t it?

What Barbara's Clients are Saying
Barb was a pleasure to work with and I looked forward to our sessions and her willingness to offer help and explore with me what the Emotion Code and Body Code could do to aid my overall health and understandings.
~ Rita R., Florida, USA
Sessions with Barbara are like a journey into a portion of my past that I had forgotten. I always sense a release of regret or pain or sadness that gets replaced with relief, happiness, and a lightness that feels like joy.
~ Pam S., Lousiana, USA
I so enjoyed the lightness you brought to our sessions, even though at times it felt like we were hitting on some dark, ominous, or weird things. I loved that you were always willing to call this "an adventure". That alone made the exploration feel intriguing and curious for me.
